André The Giant
André the Giant was a famous wrestler who stood 7 foot 4 inches tall and was also known as the Eighth Wonder of the World. Despite being born in France, his parents were Slavic (an ethic group of people in central and Eastern Europe who speak Slavic languages like Polish or Czech) as his dad was from Bulgaria and his mum was Polish.
He grew so big that his parents didn't recognise him growing up and because he was too big for a school bus, Irish playwright Samuel Beckett took him and his siblings to and from school. It wasn't until he visited Japan was when doctors told him why he was really tall. André's enormous size meant that his attire was custom made to fit him.
Despite being a wrestler which would usually mean that he would be rough (he tore fellow Professional wrestler Hulk Hogan's shirt and cross chain off with such force that Hogan bled), Andre was gentle giant outside of the ring and had a daughter of his own whom he gave nearly his entire estate to as well as to his wife when he found out she was his biological daughter. It was his gentle giant nature that got him the role of Fezzik in The Princess Bride. Unfortunately, his condition had health side effects that was too much for his heart to handle and he passed away from heart failure in his Paris hotel room where he was staying so he could attend his father's funeral. When a memorial bell toll was held for Andre at one of the first wrestling matches after his death a person in the crowd emitted a giant sneeze which is one unusual way of paying tribute to a very big man who wasn't really wanting to hurt
someone.
