Rasputin

A tall mystic monk, Rasputin was a saviour to Alexei and Alexandra but to many others, he was a "cancer to the Romanov Dynasty. His belief in faith healing proved him controversial in the eyes of the Russian civilians but a god in the eyes of the Romanovs. With one telegraph message, Rasputin told the Tsarina "Don't worry, he will stop haemorrhaging tomorrow". When his prophecy came true, the Romanovs saw him as a God, especially Tsarina Alexandra. However people hated him for his many other actions and his greasy appearance.
His hatred by Russian civilians was SO BAD that he was assassinated by being shot to death and his body was thrown into the Malaya Nevka River on 30th December 1916. The following months saw the Romanov's downfall and eventual killings in 1918.
"life imitates art" as they say just so happened to Bobby Farrell, the only male member of the band Boney M. who are famous for singing a song about Rasputin, which he would perform while dressed like Rasputin. When the 61-year-old Farrell died of heart failure on 30th December 2010 in St Petersburg, it was discovered that he died in the same city and on the death anniversary of the mad monk. Rasputin also had a daughter who fled to America for a better life.
