Anastasia Romanov

Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov, the last daughter of Tsar Nicholas the 2nd and his wife Alexandra. Born 3 years before her weak brother the Tsarevich Alexei, she became iconic in death for having allegedly survived her death the night her family was murdered. One of the most famous impostors Anna Anderson claimed to have been her all her life but it only took until after Anderson's 1984 death, the 1979 discovery of the Romanov family remains in and finally the identification of Alexei and Maria's remains in 2008 for the rumour to be debunked. Despite this, many films were made about her, including an animated film directed by Don Bluth in 1997. All of which went with the survival theory.
