One of the 13 Colony girls, Gabby was originally called Gabriela but shortened her name when her and her sisters as well as Hilary broke free of British rule during the American Revolution. For some odd reason, none of the colonisers thought of calling her Georgina after the colony (now state) that she represents. 

She is a burns survivor as she survived the Burning of Atlanta with many burns on her body. One of the few burns scars that she can present without needing a paper doll are on her neck. The Burning of Atlanta also affected her personality as before the fires, she was arrogant and haughty as well as self-centered but the fire changed her immensely as she realised that her attitude could get her killed so she dialed it down greatly but she can still slip up at times and act like how she did before the fires. In fact, a singular flame being shown to her during a regression will cause her to come to again but only out of fear of being burned again. 

Gabby wants to be a journalist when she grows up, a very recent ambition that came to her when Ted Turner set up CNN in Atlanta, Georgia in 1980.
