How the Romanov Dynasty began

The Romanov Dynasty began in 1613 when a zomsky sober (assembly of the land) met and chose a young, not very well educated 16-year-old nobleman named Michael Fyodorovich Romanov to be the new tsar of Russia which ended the collapsed rule of the Rurik dynasty. Although weak at first when he reluctantly took throne, Michael allowed his older relatives to dominate his reign and dictate policy that would restore order to Russia.
