Hachikō

Hachikō was a very loyal Japanese Akita dog who for nine years until his death waited at the Shibuya Station for his owner, Hidesaburō Ueno who a Professor in agricultural science at Imperial University. Ueno died of a cerebral haemorrhage in 1925 but
Hachikō
remained very loyal and was honoured with a bronze statue the year before he died. Since then, there have been many dogs and even cats who refuse to leave their deceased masters' side but there hasn't been a beloved pet like Hachikō who waited at the train station their owner commuted from.
