Richard The Third

Richard the Third became king when his brother Edward IV died and his nephew Edward V (who along with his brother vanished in one of history's greatest unsolved mysteries, the Princes in the Tower) was declared illegitimate. As the last Plantagenet king of England and the last English King to die in battle, he met his end 3 years into his reign in the Battle of Bosworth Field during the War of the Roses when he was chopped to bits by Henry Tudor (later King Henry VII)'s soldiers when he tried to cut down the Tudor flag. After his death, he was interred within an unmarked grave in Greyfriars Church but his remains were lost other ages after the monastery was dissolved until 2012 when his skeleton was found in a car park in Leicester, England. After his remains were identified to be his, he was reburied in a religious ceremony at Leicester Cathedral, now with a marked grave. It should also be noted that his defeat by the first Tudor king led to him being painted as a baddie in many Tudor era works all because he lost not only the War of the Roses but also his life
