Moon Landing 1969/ Apollo 11 Moon Landing
The Moon Landing of 1969 was an American victory against the Soviets during the space race. Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins were on board the Apollo 11 when it successfully launched on 16 July 1969. They landed on 20 July 1969. Michael Collins stayed on board while Armstrong and Aldrin made history as being the first men on the moon. "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" said Neil Armstrong as they made their mark in history. After returning to earth, the three astronauts were quarantined in case they had picked up any bacteria on the moon. Despite some conspiracy theories calling this event a hoax, it was all too real as it was easier to go to the moon itself than fake it back in 1969. The evidence we have that we went to the moon are a bleached American flag, a plaque stating that the astronauts came in peace and retro reflectors which means if you were to fire a high powered laser at the moon, the laser would bounce back. Also conspiracy theories are a load of rubbish so WE DID GO TO THE MOON! The Toy Story character of Buzz Lightyear was named after Buzz Aldrin.
