Omagh Bombing (15 Aug 1998)

On 15 August 1998 at 3:15 pm, a car bomb went off in Omagh, a town in county Tyrone, Northern Ireland. It was planted in a car by the Real Irish Republican Army. 29 people were killed including a pregnant woman and her 1 year-old daughter while 220-300 people were injured. The bombing came just 4 months after the Good Friday Agreement was signed which was intended to be a solution to the Troubles.
