World Refugee Day
World Refugee Day, a day that has only become recognised recently by the media and human rights organisations. In fact, World Refugee Day is 20 years old! The day that honours people who have been displaced or are unable to return home due to civil unrest came to be at the start of the 21st century when the United Nations General Assembly decided upon holding the day annually on 20 June while adopting Resolution 55/76 on 4 December 2000.
