Freddie Mercury
In the summer of 2021, Auil'i Cravalho, the star of the Disney film Moana, came out as bisexual. This means that she is in love with both men and Born in Stonetown in Zanzibar, Tanzania as Farrokh Bulsara to Parsee parents who were followers of the Zoroastrian faith with ancestry from Persia (Iran). Freddie spent time in India before moving with his parents to London, England.
It was in London where he met the men who would become his bandmates, Roger Taylor and Brian May and they would later be joined by John Deacon. Together they formed the band Queen. Together the band made many songs with one of their most iconic ones Bohemian Rhapsody Appearing not just in audio-visuals like the 1992 film Wayne's World but on music courses on school curriculums for being an interesting body of music as well. It's interesting as there are musical features like panning (changing of audio direction), flanging (mixing of two audio sounds for less than 20 milliseconds), call and response (a solo statement that is followed up by second ensemble part), glissando (continuous sliding up and down between two notes), acapella (singing without accompaniment) and many more! The song is also six minutes long as it has 6 sections:
1. Intro
2. Ballad
3. Guitar solo
4. Operatic section
5. Rock section
6. Coda
For a time, Freddie went solo but he was back with Queen not long after. Freddie was one person who wouldn't let things stop him. For example, when his doctor advised him based on a bout of vocal trouble to skip Live Aid which was a charity concert and telefon held by Bob Geldof to raise money for to help famine ridden Ethiopia), Freddie decided to go on stage anyway and performed with no problem.
A year after performing at Live Aid, Freddie was diagnosed with AIDS, a sexually transmitted disease that can be transmitted through unprotected sex or through un-sanitized needles used in medicine. Yet that didn't stop Freddie until he was unable to go on physically. He didn't tell the public until 23rd November 1991 through a press statement released 24 hours his untimely passing on 24 November 1991 and he was survived by his mother, his lover at the time Irish hairdresser Jim Hutton, his bandmates as well as his soulmate and former fiancée Mary Austin at the tender age of 45. Today, 30 years since his passing, Freddie Mercury has been listened to and remembered to this day.
